I've just released a free drum machine 'emulation' (more of a personal take) of the Yamaha RX5. The VST/AU instrument plugin is available for Windows 32 bit & 64 bit, and also as universal VST/AU instrument plugin for Mac OS X. It looks like this:

The plugin has some basic effects: reverb, 'punch', vinyl and a sub (which I personally find quite useful). It's based on the Yamaha RX5 basic set and it features 9 'kits', including 4 FM synthesizer sampled instruments (Yamaha loved their DX ). You can download it for

Oh yeah... It's called 'Vintage Drum Elements'. All the samples have been carefully trimmed and converted to 16 bit flac files. I've done this in order to make the plugin load very fast and light on the CPU. If your computer isn't too old, it should be fairly easy to use. The original samples of the machine were 12 bit samples, so it should sounds the same.
Let me know what you think. I haven't tested the plugin in Ableton Live yet, I'll do it tomorrow as I've been quite busy recently...
